MIG, Stick and TIG: the three weld types in Welding Simulator

Welding Simulator has three welding methods. MIG lays smooth "stack of dimes" beads and covers 27 jobs. Stick burns through rust: you feed the rod and chip off the slag. TIG asks you to hold a tight arc and rewards you with shiny rainbow welds. Stick and TIG arrived in the Stick and TIG update.

MIG

Official thumbnail: a MIG torch tracing a hexagon bead. Tagline: Lay real beads. Stack the dimes.

MIG is the starting method and has the published job list of 27. "Stack of dimes" is a real welding term for evenly overlapping ripples in a bead, and the game uses it as the look of a good weld.

Stick

Official thumbnail: Stick welding a U-shaped bead on rusty metal.

Stick welding adds steps: the rod is consumed as you weld so you feed it in, rusty metal is part of the job, and slag has to be chipped off afterward. The thumbnails show it on corroded plate.

TIG

TIG is about arc control. Holding a tight arc is the skill the developer names, and the reward is the rainbow heat tint shown in the official art.

Underwater welding

Two thumbnails show welding on submerged pipes, one marked NEW and one warning "Don't get shocked". The description does not yet explain underwater rules, so details are left out here.
